Rainy Day Fun…

It’s raining out and I have two active toddlers…what do you do? hit up Pinterest for something to do!!

I was inspired by Lil Muse Lily’s art projects and wanted to try some out. Marco and Olivia definitely love to paint. Now that our Mommy and Me class is ending, I want to make sure we keep up the arts n’ crafts.

Here are some of my pins that I will be testing out. The ingredients are all everyday household items and look super easy, just the way I like it.

Say Hello To Bags!!

I am loving the new bag collection, Stella & Dot has launched for Summer!

My samples just arrived and I love them all!

The La Totale will be my summer bag to tote around all the kids’ stuff. Love that it’s wipeable, zips up and has pockets inside.

I have been really bad about documenting Marco & Olivia’s milestones in a book. I try to do so on FB, IG and here on the blog.

In an effort to document these small moments, I am going to do a little series here on the blog and then hopefully get my ass in gear and make a photo book.

Bathtime has always been their favorite since they were newborns. Maybe it has to do with all the water sounds I made them listen to while in my belly I can’t believe how big they look in the tub now. They were these teeny little mushballs that I had to help prop and were barely holding themselves up when we started in the tub and now they almost take up the whole the tub!

They are obsessed with doing their own bathtime routine now, lotion, brushing teeth and hair. Oh and now comes the fun of picking out their own pjs every.night. Fleece feetie pj’s are out and it’s all about finding the most mismatched set ever and that’s the winner.

Fun with Homemade Playdoh

I don’t think I will ever buy play doh in the store again. I had seen recipes on Pinterest but it wasn’t until we went to our mommy & me class that I had seen the stuff in action. It’s so much better than the store play doh that crumbles up and gets all in the carpet, the grooves of the play mat.

The recipe I tried is from Queen Bee Coupons.

It took me minutes to make! Marco and Olivia were playing with in no time and I was able to make 2 more batches.

Play dough recipe

1 cup flour

1 cup water

2 tablespoons oil (vegetable, canola)

1/2 cup salt

1 teaspoon Cream of Tartar

Food coloring, Kool Aid, Jell-O or other colorful mix (prefer two packages of Kool-Aid for best color)

1 quart-sized Ziploc bag for storage

Instead of using kool aid (didn’t have any at home) I used Wilton Icing Colors to give it color. You only needed a tiny amount and I just stirred it in after the dough started to take form. You can knead in the color a bit more once you take it out of the pot.

I couldn’t think of a witty title…I am tired!

It’s been a crazy week, I am just glad it’s Thursday and we are one day closer to the WEEKEND! Exciting weekend plans, Saturday is the circus and Sunday I am taking a photography class with one of my favorite local photographers.

I have been so busy with my Stella & Dot business and the kids that I haven’t picked up my DSLR in a month.

Monday, we were home and while the kids were playing I grabbed my camera to sneak some pics. Everyday they are changing so much. Their little imaginations crack me up. Picking up the phone to call Sophia the First, apparently there are dragons outside our house that pinch their tushes! what?!

Summer Love and a GIVEAWAY!!!

It feels like yesterday but its been SEVEN years since the summer I met Martino. It was an amazing summer and we spent most of it down the shore, on his boat.

So much has changed since then, not just for us but for our beloved Jersey Shore. We can’t wait for the shore to rebuild so we can share those memories and make new ones with Marco & Olivia.

One thing that always brings me back to that summer is Bruce’s Jersey Girl. I know, I know, typical jersey girl but yup that’s it. I would blast it driving down the parkway ha ha.

When I saw this pic on Mrs.Meshugga’s FB page, I knew I ahead to have two for M & O. What’s a summer at the shore without a hoodie and with this adorable print? I can’t resist!

BONUS: Proceeds from the sale of the sweatshirts will go to the Hurricane Sandy Relief fund so that everything down the shore will be alright, and soon.

Spring Looks for Kids

I’m over the cold weather, uggs are boring, sick of winter coats and GERMS! I never get excited over winter styles, it’s just not for me but SPRING?!

Spring for me is all about new beginnings, love the weather, everything turning green and oh yes March is all about birthdays. Mine, my sister, uncle, friends.

I’m trying to hold out buying Marco & Olivia spring pieces but I can’t help putting together looks online.

I am going to try and feature some of my fave shops for kids each Monday.

Lets start with Zara. Love the colors and their simple styles. The older Marco & Olivia get the more I’m drawn to simple pieces, easy to mix and match.

Of course they are having a great sale, but all the the sizes we need are sold out. Boo for me, yay for Martino’s wallet.
