One of my first fall sessions this month was with one of my fave families. Mom and Dad and I go way back to high school and it’s surreal that now when we get together we talk about Disney movies and nap times!
I finally did it and I am having so much fun…
This summer I launched Happy Chaos Pictures.
I am having such a blast and I can’t wait to for all these fall and holiday sessions.
This blog will definitely be a place where I share pics from my sessions and our life. Have to make an effort to do it more regularly
We recently had a summer tea party with our friends, it was relaxing and such a great time to get together with the kids. Our dear friend created a perfect summer party tablescape and the kids had such a fun time.
You can check out the pics from the day here.
The pictures are definitely making their way into our summer photo album.
For more end of summer bash ideas and photo projects, we have a guest post from Heather Hewitt/Shutterfly.
Five Tips to Help You Throw a Relaxing End-of-Summer Bash
Where, oh where, has the summer gone? That’s the question on everyone’s minds as we look toward Labor Day, the unofficial last day of summer. The lazy days of no schedule and vacations have flown by—now it’s time to buy school supplies and gifts, everything from binders to the latest tech gear and custom iPhone cases to go with it. Or maybe your kids have already started school, but the heat still rages on outside. Why not take a little time to celebrate the last days of summer with a laid-back gathering of your friends and family? Use these five tips to make the most of your last summer bash.
Use an online invitation site. If you’re a DIY guru and love making cutesy invites, go for it – but definitely don’t feel pressured to. The whole point of this party is to relax and spend time together before the busyness of the fall and the holidays begin. So make it easy on yourself by ordering invites online. It’s easy to pick out the invitation you want, add photos, change fonts, put a personal message and – voila! – you’re done.
Keep the food kid-friendly. What’s better – or easier – than a barbecue? Grill up some of your kids’ favorites, like hot dogs, hamburgers and fruit kabobs. Feel free to also throw on a few steaks or chicken breasts for more grown-up fare. In addition, serve easy sides like potato salad, chips, macaroni and cheese and brownies. For drinks, lemonade makes the perfect refreshment – it’s simple to stir up and serve in your favorite plastic pitcher.
Go simple with décor. Why spend a bunch of money on summer or beach-themed décor when it’s almost time for fall? If your party is inside, your own customized home décor will be plenty! If you want to decorate, just add a little fun with bright colors. Purchase a few plastic tablecloths and maybe search out some colored plastic serving dishes – you might even get them on major clearance since it’s the end of the summer. Also, there’s no need to go formal, so make use of paper products for easy clean-up.
Set the mood with the right music. Summer is a time for relaxation and dreaming of beach vacations. Even if you don’t have a beach nearby, you can set the tone for summer with surf-inspired songs by the Beach Boys or some other rockin’ jams that make you want to party. For some inspiration, check out this list of top songs of the summer.
Get creative with games and activities. If it’s an adult party, chatting with margaritas in hand is plenty of activity, but kids might like having a little more to do. Organize a water balloon toss, a game of water limbo, a watermelon eating contest (or seed spitting contest!) or a game of tag in the sprinklers – whatever you need to keep your guests entertained and having fun in the sun.
Remember to keep fun at the center when you throw your end-of-summer bash. In keeping with the spirit of the lazy days of summer, don’t forget to keep it simple. Make it easy for yourself and guests to have a good time.

It’s still a month away but the weather these past few days has made me excited for back to school fashion. yes, I know that M & O are only 2 and not headed to school yet but I just love all the new looks. Oh, how I use to LOVE getting the new fall Vogue in the mail and drooling over all the pages (when I actually had time to read a magazine!) now my excitement is for small style fit for two little people.
Olivia’s looks are inspired by Miss Alaia Rose (move over Suri), her closet was just featured on her mom’s IG and it’s die for, I mean even I am jealous!
Marco’s looks – why can’t there be more options besides character shirts and stripes for boys?! H&M seems to have the most options for fall this year. Did you know that we can now shop online…woo hoo
Little Rascals, a set on Flickr.
It’s take me awhile to get these pics edited and narrowed down, but here they are!
Last month, we got together with some of our favorite moms and kids. They have been featured on the blog a few times.
It’s crazy to think how we all met as new moms in a music together class and here we are almost 3 years later.
I wanted to capture the kids all together.
They are all growing up so fast! This fall we will have a crazy October celebrating their 3rd birthdays.
Can we just freeze time? I love all these angels like my own and I think these pictures show their little personalities. I hope one day they look back on these with memories of all the adventures they have shared!
Yesterday was just one of those perfect, casual, summer days I love.
We hit the pool, BBQ’d, kids took a nice long nap!! The fireworks in Ridgewood were the best I’ve seen and the concert was fun too. It is definitely going to be a part of out July 4th tradition.
Marco & Olivia LOVED the fireworks. They couldn’t even sit, they were so excited.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend!

One of our favorite things to do is explore new parks and gardens around Bergen. I had heard about Thielke Arboretum awhile ago and decided to check it out last week.
What a gorgeous little secret spot in Glen Rock!
Marco and Olivia had a blast pointing out fish, turtles and dragonflies around the pond. There are great trails that are perfect for the kids to explore and even a dinosaur trail. Marco and Olivia are both obsessed with dragons and had so much fun hunting them through the trails. (it was really birds chirping but I just couldn’t break it to them ha ha)
Last week was a BIG turning point in our house! After months of driving around all of Bergen getting these two to nap in the car, they finally starting napping in their BEDS!! I am one happy mama.
This was the perfect little morning outing to wear them out for naptime.
PS: There are only 3 days left to earn Dot Dollars!! It’s a pretty sweet deal and perfect reason to shop Stella & Dot! Spend $50 in June and earn $25 to spend in July!!
I so wasn’t planning on potty training right now..but Olivia had other ideas. I wanted to wait until I was all organized and the house was clean and then just focus on potty training. (I know, I know, OCD much)
It’s been a few days and so far so good, a few accidents here and there but not too bad. If there is one thing about parenthood that stresses me out, it’s PT’ing. I can handle sleep training, take two kids out all over the place, pacif-weaning, no biggies compared to this.
The silver lining in all this, is that we are back to napping in our beds during the day!!! This is huge for me! After months of driving all over and countless trips to the Starbucks drive-thru, they finally figured out that “hey, it’s nice to sleep laying down, and not upright in a carseat!!”
Maybe, I will get some laundry done for once?! Ha ha, who am I kidding?
Pre-Parenthood, I would have totally judged this damn travel potties, but right now I am loving it.
fun times hanging in the bathroom with Miss Sassy.
It’s raining out and I have two active toddlers…what do you do? hit up Pinterest for something to do!!
I was inspired by Lil Muse Lily’s art projects and wanted to try some out. Marco and Olivia definitely love to paint. Now that our Mommy and Me class is ending, I want to make sure we keep up the arts n’ crafts.
Here are some of my pins that I will be testing out. The ingredients are all everyday household items and look super easy, just the way I like it.
Stella & Dot is having quite the Memorial Day Sale!
